Management Team Kent A. Savage - Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Kent Savage serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Digital
Lifestyles Group. Mr. Savage has over 20 years of entrepreneurial and public
company executive leadership experience in the consumer electronics, communications
and networking industry. Mr. Savage joins Digital Lifestyles Group from TippingPoint,
Technologies, a publicly traded network security company where he served
as co-founder and Chief Marketing and Sales Officer. TippingPoint innovated
the award winning UnityOne intrusion prevention system. Previously, Mr. Savage
was the co-founder and the President and Chief Executive Officer of Netpliance
Inc., the innovator of the i-opener consumer internet appliance, access and
online content. Under Mr. Savage's leadership, Netpliance achieved first
market mover advantage and raised in excess of $235M of capital, culminating
in an IPO at a market cap of $1.2B. Prior to Netpliance, Mr. Savage served
as General Manager, Broadband for Cisco Systems' Service Provider Line of
Business where he lead Cisco's DSL and CMTS product revenue activities for
the Telco and Cable industry and achieved #1 market share. Prior to Cisco,
Mr. Savage served as an officer and Vice President, Sales and Marketing for
NetSpeed, Inc. -- a pioneer in broadband DSL, which culminated in a $265M
sale to Cisco Systems. Prior to NetSpeed, Mr. Savage served in numerous Vice
President and Director Capacities for Connectware, Inc., Nortel and Wang
Laboratories. Mr. Savage is also on the board of directors for publicly traded
Innovo Group. Mr. Savage earned his Bachelors in Business from Oklahoma State
University and earned his MBA from Southern Methodist University.
Lloyd Clark - Vice President, General Manager of Northgate Operations
Lloyd Clark serves as Northgate Operations Vice President and General Manager.
Mr. Clark has been in the technology and computer sector for over 20 years and his
experience includes operations leadership roles at the Vice President, Director, and
senior manager levels with Celestica, Flextronics International/Dovatron, Zero Corporation,
and NCR/Teradata Corporation. Mr. Clark has successfully lead world class manufacturing
operations in producing and designing cutting edge products in support of a wide range of
customers. Mr. Clark holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Arts from California State
University at Long Beach.
Annie Bacon - Vice President Marketing
Annie Bacon serves as Digital Lifestyles Group's Vice President of Marketing.
Ms. Bacon brings 15 years of consumer product marketing in the Personal Computer
sector to Digital Lifestyles Group. Her experience includes product marketing
and development with Compaq Computers (13 Years) where she held positions
in the Desktop, Laptop, Printer and finally in the Handheld i-Paq line. Bacon
is credited with bringing Compaq into the handheld market, growing the division
and setting up the overseas manufacturing. Her early efforts define what the
handheld division is today. Following Compaq, Bacon joined Netpliance as Vice
President of Marketing, where she led the successful launch of the i-opener
consumer internet appliance, access and online content. Her marketing creativity
contributed to the companies IPO in 2000. Most recently Bacon has served as
Senior Vice President of Marketing with Security Broadband, an Austin, TX
company in the business of providing web based audio/video security and lifestyle
products. In her capacity, she was responsible for the launch of the SafeVillage
service, the first professionally monitored, Internet enabled security service
along high speed broadband connections. Bacon earned her Bachelor of Business
degree from the University of Texas.
Theodore B. Muftic – Chief Financial
Officer
Ted Muftic serves as Chief Financial Officer of Digital Lifestyles Group. Mr.
Muftic has more than 16 years of investment banking experience advising companies
in the telecom, media and technology industries. During his career, Mr. Muftic
has advised on more than $40.0 billion of transactions in Mergers and Acquisitions
and Corporate Finance, including private placements, IPOs, equity and equity-linked
offerings, and high yield and investment grade bond and bank deals. Mr. Muftic
joined Northgate from Credit Suisse First Boston where he was
a Managing Director in the European Telecom and Media Group, based in London.
Previously, Mr. Muftic was a Managing Director at ING Barings in New York and
London where he successfully led the start-up of telecom investment banking
efforts on two continents. Prior to that, he was a Vice President at Salomon
Brothers in New York where he pioneered the development and financing of competitive
communications companies in the wireless, local, long distance and Internet
sectors. Mr. Muftic earned an A.B., cum laude, in International Relations from
Stanford University and an M.B.A from Harvard Business School.
Erik Smith - Vice President Business Development and Programming
Erik Smith serves as Digital Lifestyles Group's Vice President of Business
Development and Programming. Mr. Smith brings to the Digital Lifestyles Group
an extensive history of experience and knowledge implementing and managing
high profile campaigns and programs. Prior to Digital Lifestyles Group, Mr.
Smith was Senior Director of Business Development at Motive Communications
where he developed strategy, built programs and forged partnerships to effectively
enable broadband service providers to deliver content to consumers over broadband.
As a Consultant to the CTO at DirecTV, Mr. Smith was responsible for the strategy
and development of next generation, advanced digital set top box applications.
Prior to joining DirectTV, Mr. Smith was the Director of Content and Applications
at Liberate Technologies where he conceived and managed Liberat's PopTV program,
the largest developers programs for interactive television. In addition, acting
as Market Development Director, Mr. Smith created and built the original Sun
Microsystems' Java Developer Program including the development and execution
of the market strategy based upon Java applications for the enterprise market.
Prior to Sun, Mr. Smith was responsible for the development of the vertical
markets strategy at Taligent, Inc. Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor of Arts degree
from San Jose State University.
J. William Wilson - Vice President and General Counsel
William Wilson serves as Digital Lifestyles Group's Vice President and General
Counsel. Mr. Wilson joined Digital Lifestyles Group from the law firm of Haynes
and Boone, where his practice emphasized representing issuers and investors
in public and private securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions and general
representation of public and private companies in a variety of industries.
Prior to joining Haynes and Boone, Mr. Wilson was a partner with the law firm
of Hughes & Luce. Mr. Wilson also served as Vice President General Counsel
of Medical , Inc., a publicly-held home healthcare provider, prior to its
acquisition by Horizon Healthcare, Inc. in 1996. Mr. Wilson received his B.A.
in Economics from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, his M.B.A.
from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his J.D. from Southern
Methodist University.
Paul Kirchoff - Vice President Product Management
a proven track record in product management and marketing from companies such as Dell Computer and
United Devices and a strong history of pioneering technology innovation and business model strategies
in both large and entrepreneurial companies. During his tenure at Dell Corporation, Mr. Kirchoff spent
several years in product marketing and new business development where he started and grew the Internet
and Communications line of business, as well as the Inspiron portables line. Inspiron grew from zero
to $1.5 billion in sales in the first eleven months and has won the most industry awards of any portable
line in history. In addition, Kirchoff developed DellŐs vision, strategy, offerings and development plans
for many leading-edge products and services. In 1999, he was presented with the Office of Chairman award
by the Dell executive management team. Most recently, Paul served as a Vice President for United Devices.
Prior to joining United Devices, Paul was founder and CEO of Yehti Corporation. Mr. Kirchoff has a B.A. in
Finance and Entrepreneurship from the University of Arizona, as well as an MBA in Marketing and
Entrepreneurship from the University of Texas at Austin.
Board of Directors Troy Carter - Director
Troy Carter serves as a board member of the Digital Lifestyles Group . Mr.
Carter is founder and Executive Producer at Erving Wonder Management (EWM).
EWM is a multi-faceted entertainment management company that includes music,
TV/film, fashion and sports and is a 2001 merger between J. Erving Group and
Boy Wonder Management. Today, EWM boasts a client roster of some of entertainments
most innovative and dynamic performers and producers including rapper/actress,
Eve, Philadelphia's favorite female import, London-bred R&B/rap duo, Floetry,
prolific hit-making producer Shakespeare, soulful singing diva, Angie Stone
and actress Leila Arceri, the beautiful and talented face of Daddy Day Care
with Eddie Murphy, among others. Mr. Carter began his career under the tutelage
of Sean "P-Diddy" Combs. Since then, Troy has gone on to secure
a label deal with Interscope Records. Current products include producing a
Feature film with the makers of "Barbershop" & "Monsters
Ball," entitled "Getting
Unstuck." He is also the executive Producer on "Eve" -- a situation
comedy starring Troy's client EVE on UPN and he was instrumental in launching
FETISH, EVE's highly anticipated clothing line. Marc B. Crossman - Director
Marc Crossman serves as a board member for the Digital Lifestyles Group . Mr. Crossman
currently is with Innovo Group and has served as a Director since January 1999,
and as the company's Chief Financial Officer since March 2003. Prior to joining
Innovo Group, Mr. Crossman served as a Vice President and Equity Analyst with
J.P. Morgan Securities Inc., New York City, New York, from January 1999 until
March 2003. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan Securities, Inc., Mr. Crossman served
as a Vice President and Equity Analyst with CIBC Oppenheimer Corporation from
September 1997 through January 1999. From November 1994 through September 1997,
Mr. Crossman served as an Associate and Equity Analyst with Dain Rauscher Wessels.
Mr. Crossman is a graduate of Vanderbilt University. Jay Furrow - Director
Jay Furrow serves as a board member of the Digital Lifestyles Group . Mr. Furrow
currently serves as a Director and Chief Executive Officer of Innovo Group.
Mr. Furrow joined the Company as Vice President of Corporate Development and
In-House Counsel in 1998 and became a Director in January 1999. He has also
served as the Company's Chief Operating Officer since April 1999 and its Acting
Chief Financial Officer since August 2000. He was elected President of the
Company in December 2000, a position held until his election as Chief Executive
Officer in 2002. Mr. Furrow graduated with an undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt
University, and received a law degree from Southern Methodist University School
of Law.
Suhail Rizvi - Director
Suhail Rizvi serves as a board member for the Digital Lifestyles Group . Mr. Rizvi has over 18
years of private equity investing experience for his own account and as a fiduciary for institutional
investors. Since 1991 Mr. Rizvi has made debt and equity investments in a number of manufacturing
and technology oriented companies totaling in excess of $200,000,000. Mr. Rizvi began his career in
1986 with the MIG Companies, an investment management firm with over $2 billion under management.
In 1989, Mr. Rizvi became a principal in the firm and headed up the firm's efforts in the real estate
and corporate securities area. Mr. Rizvi is an investor in and also serves on the boards of Varsity
Television, Innovo Group Inc. and International Sourcing Group. Mr. Rizvi has also been a seed investor
in TippingPoint Technologies, Inc. and BBX Technologies. Mr. Rizvi is a graduate of the Wharton School
