Gmail block in China due to Google Buzz

Chinese Internet users predict ambulance blocking the Gmail in China, in connection with the launch of social service Google Buzz.

Internet users believe that the new service will be blocked by the authorities of the PRC in the near future. A possible reason is the potential threat of Internet censorship and violation of information security policy in force in China.

Chinese users praised Google Buzz, but many fear that because it will be blocked e-mail service Gmail, considered to be in China a safe and uncontrolled by the government.

In favor of this prediction says the partial blocking of Google service on the territory of China. Currently, China is not available to service Google Calendar, Google Docs, and YouTube, which allow users divided calendars, schedules, documents and video. And also the fact that Google Buzz is available in Chinese (first blocking YouTube came after the launch of the Chinese UI).

Google Buzz was launched by Google on Feb. 9 in its email service Gmail. With this social tool to rapidly disseminate messages that contain links, photos and videos among an unlimited range of users. According to some analysts, the creation of Google Buzz, is an attempt to compete with Google Twitter and Facebook, which has long been blocked in China.

Recall that a few days the Iranian government completely block access to Gmail, reported by The Wall Street Journal. According to the newspaper, the State Telecommunications Company of Iran stated that it blocked access to email Google. The statement said that the measure is intended to spur the creation of their own service-based Iranian nationals, reports BFM.ru.
