Intel cuts 10,500 staff

The world’s largest chip maker Intel has announced on Tuesday that it plans to fire 10,500 employees, representing about 10% of company personnel. This is the most large-scale layoffs in the history of Intel.
Intel reported that staff reductions will occur through employee layoffs, early retirement and the sale of unprofitable divisions of the company. Dismissed are mainly employees from among the company’s management and working in the field of marketing and information technology.
