The traditional annual exhibition of computer innovations CeBIT 2010 opened today in Hannover. CeBIT is the world’s biggest exhibition related to information technology and communications. At the opening of the exhibition, which will last the next 5 days present Chancellor Angela Merkel and Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero. Spain this year serves as the partner country CeBIT 2010.
In the opening speech Merkel said that Germany’s government will spare no efforts for the development of world and European ICT markets, even though the global crisis and the financial policy in the euro zone. She also added that the government waives the previously announced an ambitious program for 2015 to 75% of German families of broadband Internet access at speeds of at least 50 megabits per second. Also, German Chancellor urged the European telecom regulators and companies as possible to make more restructuring and the release of radio frequency to the vacated frequency could let for the provision of wireless Internet. “In rural areas the problem is very acute, much remains to be done. I’m not even talking about such things as viewing the movie through the Internet, it is a basic access and the possibility of using a cell phone,” - said Merkel.
